you looked as to know how? you didn't have to reply?
-
I looked at this because the subject title was in upper case...thats all.
I have to ask you, are you playing your silly games again ?
I think unless you can come up for a good reason for this post
some more people may now just start to wonder what this is all about Chris.
Thank you for this post it makes sense to me !

Thank you for this post it makes sense to me !
Indeed.
I think this is someone honing his WUM skills.
He's doing a very good job.
Quite how anyone can take this clown seriously is quite beyond my comprehension.
Now give detailed instructions on how you make your spiced oil Chris, otherwise how can anyone on this forum take you seriously when you start threads like this and don't follow through?
Unless you are in fact a WUM?
Over to you...

com'on little big man "spiceyokooko" TELL US ALL
As usual Chris, you seem to get things around the wrong way.
Can you point out please, anywhere in this thread, where I've claimed to tell all and anyone how spiced oil is made? Anyone?
Yet, here's Chris, now asking me to explain how it's made?
Just a minor thing to point out to you Chris, you started this thread, not I.
But, as I said in your previous thread on cooking lessons, making spiced oil is a relatively simple process, you extract spice essential oils, whether whole or ground by frying in oil. The oil as a flavour carrier is then infused with the flavour of these essential oils.
Just how difficult a process is this to understand?
Over to you..

I'm not sure what is going on here and i really cant be bothered to look back through various threads to see if there is any sense in it all- Why do we have a title spiced oil and there is nothing?????? Or can i NOT see it out here!
This is the reason why this site is going down hill - its a shame because there are some good lads on here.
Like the post Graeme - mind you i have a sense of humour
best, Rich

Such a disappointing and unnecessary thread.
No class! >:(
-
I agree.
Very disappointing.
The next thing you'll know, chris will be leaving the site and taking his book with him.

I thought the purpose of this site was to share experiences, recipes, techniques etc etc. and help each other out. This thread is a classic example of the OP baiting others and causing unnecessary aggravation to his own ends ( if the book ever comes out ). What on earth did he hope to achieve by the original post? Aside from the obvious and more vociferous members he has also now alienated some of the more reserved and patient amongst us.
I for one have had enough of this idiot and any chance of me supporting this supposed book has now gone however good it may turn out to be. Perhaps IF it ever appears we designate one person to get a copy then share anything potentially useful with the rest of us? Not circulate etc, share. ;) go on , sue me. ;)
-
Ruby is quite right.
Chris, if you are trying to hype or increase the anticipation for your ebook, this is having the opposite effect. The only thing this post has done is highlight the spiced oil recipe, which probably means I won't need the ebook now.
-
Chris, what you could do is provide a bare bones 'book' for assessment by the people of this forum at a cut down cost, say one pound. All it needs is the base, oil, mix powder, precooked chicken and a couple of representative recipes. It doesn't need to be pretty, just the basics. I can promise you many people will buy it and , if it is a step forward, I can also guarantee that you'll get many more buyers for the final version. It'll also put paid to all this unnecessary build up and aggravation that's resulting from it and that is actually doing you more harm than good. ;)

How does the Admin feel about my copyrighted material being shared on this forum?
-
I think Admin should delete this whole thread. ;)

Cant see that it would be such a bad thing after reading the rubbish on this thread.
And we are termed (supposedly) as ADULTS :o, who's kidding who

How does the Admin feel about my copyrighted material being shared on this forum?
Who says it's copyright? You? Are you an expert in this?
Firstly, generic ingredient lists are not copyrightable because they're not your original work. Eg. garlic, ginger paste, equal quantities or to a ratio of 60:40. Is this my/your original work or is it something generally known and widely and freely available in the public domain? Ergo, it can't be copyrighted by you or anyone else.
Secondly, the methodology of cooking the ingredients may be copyrightable depending on the degree of originality. If you're just lifting commonly known methodology from elsewhere and adjusting it slightly, it's not likely you would be able to claim copyright for it as the methodology would be commonly available free of copyright in the public domain.
Given the caveats above and assuming you could claim copyright on an original work, which wouldn't be certain, if someone were to reproduce one of your recipes and methodology for cooking the ingredients word for word without changing it in any way you may be able to exercise your right as copyright holder for that original work and stop it from being published and used without your permission.
But that's about the only right as copyright holder you would have and even then you'd have to go through a lengthy expensive legal process to enforce it.
If someone were to change the wording and/or express or interpret it in a different way, it ceases to be your original work and therefore copyrightable and becomes an original work of the originator.
If you're writing a book and intend to identify yourself as the original copyright holder, I strongly suggest you read up on this subject.
And yes, I do know something about this subject.
Annoying isn't it? ;)
-
Since when can recipes be copyrighted? Sure, the exact text and photos can be, but the ideas (and even exact amounts) are free, so such a thing wouldn't be classy or pretty, but not against the law either.
Greetings!
edit: oops, spicey was faster (and more in-depth) ;P

Hahaha.. Got his attention though. ;) even if only for a moment.

Did anyone still had any thoughts with regards to h4c's integrity after this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B7hSsr_B7zU) ?
I surely didn't.
-
I do hope this can be sorted out sensibly; Chris really does have something to offer this forum that will get folks to where they want to be. If people could make the BIR curries I did with Chris on Monday I'm sure their quest would be more or less over. I can honestly say I
-
Yes, I'm sure there's something missing and it's not only in the writing within the first post.
And we are termed (supposedly) as ADULTS :o, who's kidding who
Agreed
I'll pitch my two penneth in when i've read the book and put the content through its paces - whenever that might be

As you didn't reply to this Chris can I take it that you have less confidence in your product than you're trying to make us believe you have?

Ha, I would have booked them if only chris had confirmed whether I'd be allowed to go (though ashamedly I must admit I have passed it up for grabs) however, as the week has been going swiftly, the prices for next weekend's flight are increasing as well and as it is a long weekend for me (friday and monday off), I would rather spend it wisely for the moment, however, if I can get a confirmation early enough, I can then book the following weekend (6-7 April).
