Hi woodpecker21
I can't remember where I read it, it may even have been on this forum, but someone said they are no better than a jar of Patak's curry sauce. It's like you say, if they're that good how come we aren't all eating them?

Guess we have all set a higher standard when it comes to taste . :)

I have one of their tubs of Madras sauce in my freezer, bought from a stall at a farmer's market. I don't have high expectations. The cost seems quite high too, compared to a portion of the 'real thing' which is packed with relatively expensive meat/poulty/fish as well, of course.

I tried similar products and except for one I was suitably unimpressed. The one I like was made by an English couple in Hampshire somewhere and their sauces were very good. Sadly no more I fear. Good thing about these was they did large catering tubs also.

Damn, I just got suckered into buying a tub of the Hot Madras sauce at the local butchers. They told me how excellent it is - best curry ever etc. I thought I would give it a go, but as mentioned earlier, it is not even as nice as Pataks, plus it was really lumpy and not even close to BIR taste. Bloody butcher!
