Made this yesterday, and thought i would video it and share it with you.
4kg Onions.
4 chefs spoons of oil.
2 chefs spoons G&G 50/50.
1 Carrot.
half small Cabbage.
1 Tbsp Salt.
Peace of Cassia bark and 3 Bay leaves.

1 Tbsp Vinegar.
2.5 Tbsp mix powder.
--------------------------
mix powder.
2 Tbsp curry powder (mild madras)
2 Tbsp corriander powder.
2 Tbsp turmeric powder.
1 Tbsp paprika powder.
1 Tbsp cumin powder.
1 Tsp chilli powder.

So you've replaced the tomato with vinegar to keep the umami flavour in the gravy.
And i see you've found the trick with consistency and oil separation ;)

Another good vid Chris. Like the addition of the whole spice. Not sure about the vinegar instead of tomatoes though ??? Let us know how your finished dishes compare using your new base. I'll be trying the Little india base and compare it to my current prefered (Zaal) and then i think i'll be all "based" out. Seems little point in going round in circles once you have known "quality" bases. That is unless of course someone finally coughs and tells us what's been missing all along ;) And that ain't going to happen any time soon, if ever. Assuming that is, that there is something missing ::). But that's another debate that just seems to go on and on and on ;D
