Title: Saturday night after the pub
Post by: curryhell on December 29, 2012, 07:59 PM
Love a curry after a beer but hate having to potter around the kitchen getting it ready.  So all cooked, in the oven for a slow heat up ready for my arrival home.   Looking forward to my evening and moreso my return home  :P

Mushroom pilau, as there's a surpless of them in the fridge at the moment,

saag bhaji, just to make sure it wasn't a "one off" fluke when i cooked it correctly the other week,

and of course old faithful, the Elaichi North Indian Special.

The deep red of the North Indian Special along with the glistening of the silver container makes that look like a dish for a fit for a king... Not that you would find one eating from a foil takeaway though! But it still looks amazing.  8)

Probably empty cartons by now
Curry porn as usual CH, but I would have a word
with the Chef about portion control, as they look a little short to me ;D

Thanks for you comments guys.  It tasted almost as good as it looked :P

Actually CT the cartons were still in the oven when you posted.  A bit of a late one at the watering hole ::)
Have spoken to the chef about the short measures.  He said get smaller containers suitable for single portions ;D
Next time i bag up the base i'll increase the quantity.  That'll fix it and allow for a mushroom bhaji without encroaching on the portion size.
As for the saag, there's only so much of it one can eat.  I suppose the only advantage to an increase in portion size is copious leftovers the next day :)

A point to note, having reheated saag in the microwave and now in the oven, the microwave gives better results.  Done in the oven, due to lack of moisture as it all got rung out prior to cooking, the oil continued to cook the saag.  It went in the oven spot on, and came out slightly overcooked >:(
Obvious i suppose, just not at the time ::)
